How does Through My Window affect student (STEM) identity?

By relating to interesting characters in the novel and in the online learning adventures, learners see themselves as engineers who help people (and not just wear hard hats).  Learners become part of a story and acquire a sense of agency in an imaginative space in which their thoughts and ideas are valued and shared.  Through My Window is a place where engineering becomes something they can do.
